Our Electrical Engineering team, integral to the Hardware Engineering Group, specializes in the design and implementation of cutting-edge electronic control systems for advanced robotics. We focus on safety and compliance, adhering to European CE standards and other global certifications throughout the product lifecycle. By fostering innovation and excellence, we collaborate closely with mechanical and software teams to develop robust, integrated solutions that push the boundaries of robotics. Our strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders ensure efficient, compliant designs that align with our company's vision and meet market demands.
What you'll do
- Technical Leadership: Assume hands-on leadership in the conceptualization, design, and validation of advanced digital and power electronic systems, primarily focusing on ECUs.
- Safety & Compliance: Lead the electronic hardware design team to ensure all products comply with safety standards, possessing familiarity or certifications in European CE standards or other globally recognized safety certifications.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee products from inception to market launch, ensuring designs are efficient, compliant, and in line with company and industry standards.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Foster a culture of innovation, compliance, and technical excellence within the electrical hardware design team.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with software, mechanical, and other technical teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic components in broader product designs.
- Strategic Insight & Innovation: Drive initiatives to adopt new technologies , methodologies, and tools in the electrical design domain.
- Vendor & Partnership Management: Engage with component suppliers, PCB manufacturers, and other industry stakeholders to facilitate timely project completions and achieve cost efficiencies.

What you'll need
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 1 2 + years in the electrical hardware design domain, with a special focus on digital and power electronics, and at least 5 years in a leadership or directorial capacity.
- P rofound expertise in PCB design for digital and power electronics.
- Demonstrable experience or certifications in safety standards, preferably European CE standards.
- A hands-on, proactive approach to electronic challenges.
- Demonstrable leadership skills and the ability to inspire and guide teams.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in project management and meeting stringent timelines.
- Prior achievements or contributions in the realm of electrical hardware design, such as patents, publications, or groundbreaking product developments , is d esirable .
Our Environment
- Up to 25% of travel may be r equired . Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
The base range for this position in Bay Area, California is $190,000 - $255,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits based on the position offered.
