POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER The NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Engineer/Post-Doctoral Associate with a background in computational materials science to work on a National Science Foundation sponsored project on advanced manufacturing. The candidate will be jointly supervised by Prof. Nikhil Gupta of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Ramesh Karri of Electrical and Computer Engineering departments. The qualifications and the past research experience are expected to be in the machine learning of metallic microstructures, characterization of materials for generating the training datasets using a variety of imaging and mechanical testing methods, and using physics-based simulation methods for metallic materials. The candidate should have completed a PhD in related topics (Mechanical or Materials Engineering) and have a publication record in the desired field. We welcome applicants from recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $65,000 $70,000 depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
