We are hiring for an IPU (In-Patient Unit)- Registered Nurse in hospice. Position is Full Time, Nights, 7pm-7am.

Responsibilities

Assumes full nursing responsibility for delivering care to hospice patients in the inpatient setting hospital. Knowledgeable regarding hospice criteria, state and federal regulations and appropriate care of patients and families facing end-of-life.   





  • Performs hands-on nursing care in the hospice inpatient setting by utilizing the nursing process to achieve quality outcomes for the patients. 

  • Knowledgeable regarding criteria for hospice general inpatient, respite, and routine home care. 

  • Initiates and completes a nursing assessment within the specified time, according to level of service (General In-patient care, Residential, Respite). 

  • Accurately documents problems, appropriate goals, interventions, and patient/family response to hospice care in the electronic medical record. 

  • Performs 60- or 90-day record review for recertifications as appropriate. 

  • Initiates and coordinates the plan of care for the hospice patient in the inpatient setting based on recognized needs/problem lists, and modifies the plan of care as needed, to achieve patient/family goals and objectives. 




Education and Experience

Experience Requirements



  • One year of clinical experience.


License Requirements



  • Current RN licensure in the state of practice and one year of clinical experience.

  • Current CPR Certification.

  • Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
