A PrEP Navigator/ HIV Testing Counselor contributes to AHF by offering culturally sensitive, accurate education /information in a positive non-judgmental way to individuals vulnerable to HIV. In this role, you will provide PrEP information, linkage to PrEP care and treatment, follow-up for the outcome of PrEP service, and linkage to insurance navigation services if needed. HIV testing and PrEP screening are provided for the African American community within diverse settings by way of Mobile Unit Testing, event testing, daily street outreach, and other non-traditional venues during the day, evening, and late-night shifts. Your experience and your knowledge of issues impacting people of color living with HIV will support your efforts in coordinating referrals, resources, and linkage services to providers that can address our client's needs. You will ensure clients are educated about HIV and PrEP, how to prevent disease transmission, understand the process of HIV testing, and the importance of knowing their status. You will also ensure that clients have timely access to comprehensive medical care and treatment.

A PrEP Navigator/ HIV Testing Counselor enhances the reputation of AHF by extending to clients quality service that makes them feel comfortable and supported, thus encouraging them to continue seeking service and care from our organization.

AHF has a collaborative organizational structure where staff are accountable to multiple leaders.

The PrEP Navigator/ HIV Testing Counselor will work as a part of a close knit team to serve people, provide healthy alternatives and strengthen communities..

Licenses/ Certifications: HIV Testing Certification highly preferred.
