Professor of Practice in Technical Operations in the Information Environment

The Office of Research and Innovation at the Naval Postgraduate School invites applications for an intermittent professor of the practice related to the technical aspects of operations in the information environment. Applicants should have experience with Department of Defense policies and practices related to operations in the information environment, including practical experience related to one or more of the technical information capability areas such as cyberspace operations, electromagnetic warfare/electromagnetic spectrum operations, or signature management. Applicants must possess a graduate degree in a relevant field and have a significant work history in the planning, practice, integration, or governance of operations in the information environment (or related research).

This position is expected to support needed research, teaching, consultation, provision of subject meter expertise, and general support efforts related to the technical aspects of operations in the information environment as they emerge at NPS on an intermittent basis.

This position is a part-time/intermittent renewable term appointment with an anticipated workload of 10% to 30% effort spread across the year (with possible periods of increased or diminished effort ranging from 0% to no more than 49%).

Qualifications:

a graduate degree in a discipline that supports the departmental instructional needs;

extensive experience (typica11y15 years or more) in the field of practice;

demonstrated reputation in the community of practice for specialized domain expertise; and evidence of teaching aptitude.
