Engineering Coordinator - Military Veterans

at AM Technical Solutions

We are looking for organized and driven Engineering Coordinators to join our semiconductor projects! You will be responsible for supporting our various clients’ internal departments by functioning as a project leader by coordinating, designing, and  documenting equipment installations, remodels, site improvements and renovations in coordination with facilities engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Safety & Quality





  • Completes all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with safety policies


  • Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified


  • Utilizes and reviews job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed


  • Follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable  regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout/tagout) and chemical safety


  • Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with  stakeholders


  • Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems  immediately (maximum 24 hours)


  • Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches


  • Always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, Supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation


  • Proactively identifies opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel  health and/or the environment


  • Uses proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct manner


  • Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are  met


  • Leads quality improvement initiatives in their area of expertise to reduce Fab impacts, improve  efficiency and drive cost savings


  • Reviews designs as assigned to ensure they are within manufacturers and company guidelines  to ensure safety and quality expectations are met


  • Owns content of construction specifications, design standards and design checklists that ensure  quality, efficiency and safe work


  • Ensures specifications, standard and checklists are aligned with corporate guidelines


  • Leads system troubleshooting efforts when requested


  • Leads lessons learned type activities per area of expertise




 

Project Management





  • Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and manage  projects


  • Manages projects to ensure deliverables are completed within the required scope, schedule  and budget


  • Tracks actions and provides escalation path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on  time


  • Defines and leads complex, multi-disciplinary projects of critical importance to the client


  • Ensures regular communication to stakeholders of project status, roadblocks, and path to  success


  • Prepares project scope and ensures necessary input from appropriate stakeholders


  • Ensures that scope meets requester needs


  • Follows change management procedures


  • Works with appropriate personnel to address problems or make corrections


  • Works directly with drafting and design consultant resources


  • Coordinates and leads design meetings and initiates follow-up actions


  • Coordinates the project design schedule and construction documents


  • Coordinate with project team members to provide assure quality construction document using AutoCAD and Revit


  • Coordinates with the Project Coordinator to develop and maintain project schedules


  • Maintains project record documents




 

Communication & Collaboration





  • Partners with key stakeholders to develop solutions to continuously improve critical metrics


  • Coordinates with stakeholders and leaders on issues and changes, and provides regular status updates


  • Provides a high level of service with strong customer focus and builds effective relationships  with supported teams


  • Demonstrates strong partnering, negotiation and teamwork skills


  • Proactively seeks and provides feedback to internal and external management regarding the  quality of work being performed


  • Generates and incorporates ideas from others to influence or enable key strategic objectives


  • Collaborates with areas leaders to create personal performance and development goals


  • Partners in data collection, gap analysis, and improvement implementation; partners with key stakeholders to identify gaps and opportunities for efficiencies


  • Provides advice and guidance to less experienced team members


  • Broadens cross-disciplinary knowledge through new assignments


  • Uses questioning skills to better understand customer needs


  • Interprets customer needs to identify potential opportunities


  • Participates in cost studies and assists in identifying equipment and materials deemed  applicable for a project


  • Communicates and coordinates with internal and external department team members to  ensure timely, cost-effective, and efficient completion of projects


  • Coordinates resolution of Request for Information and Scope Change Requests




 

Technical





  • Analyzes systems data to make critical decisions, improve performance, gain efficiency, and  drive cost savings


  • Provides effective and timely guidance to resolve issues and is highly engaged in key problem  resolution


  • Provides troubleshooting support for complex problems and addresses root cause


  • Performs problem analysis using standard tools and methodologies


  • Supports risk and/or failure mode and effects analysis


  • Eliminates single points of failure and mitigates risk


  • Maintains applicable discipline knowledge


  • Provides legible and accurate working drawings


  • Organizes files and drawings for dispersal and record keeping using hard file and software  systems


  • Designs and drafts architectural elements and systems for installations, remodels and new  construction, as directed


  • Designs and drafts process piping and mechanical elements and systems in coordination with  engineers, as directed


  • Assists the area Facility Coordinator with tool placement and planning to keep installation costs  to a minimum


  • Provides consultation and technical support to other groups or projects as needed


  • Incorporates safety controls in every aspect of the design, enhancement, and modification  process


  • Uses administrative and engineering databases/applications as necessary




 

Position Requirements and Qualifications:





  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills with a proven ability to communicate complex analysis in a succinct and actionable manner

  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate efforts across a variety of groups


  • Demonstrated ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams


  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, follow complex procedures, and work with minimal  supervision


  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and  PowerPoint, and SharePoint


  • Demonstrated ability to use plotters and printers


  • Demonstrated ability to continuously learn and self-improve


  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, propose, and implement effective plans to improve  overall efficiency


  • Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex problems  and address root causes


  • Strong partnering, negotiation, and team-working skills with team members from different  disciplines


  • Proven ability to communicate and present technical information effectively to all audiences


  • 5+ years of experience in Facilities, Semiconductor Manufacturing-related  drafting/design work and experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams preferred




Education:

Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline or appropriate Certification/Licensing (Drafting or Design or  equivalent area of study)
