Part-time Computer Information Systems-Data Science Instructor Basic Function: Riverside Community College District is seeking qualified applicants to establish a pool for part-time and/or substitute instructors in this discipline. Applications will be kept on file for one year from the date of submission. When a position becomes available, the hiring department will review the applications on file and contact the candidates they are interested in interviewing. When an application has not been updated/modified for one year, it will expire and you will be notified to resubmit a new application. Education Required: Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; OR any Associate's degree and six years of experience; OR a Master's degree in the discipline. (All degrees and units used to satisfy minimum qualifications must be from accredited institutions.) Experience: With an Associate's degree, six years of full-time or the equivalent part-time professional or occupational experience in the field are required. With a Bachelor's degree, two years of full-time or the equivalent part-time professional or occupational experience in the field are required. Demonstrated ability to teach basic programming in Python and R, including programming for data cleansing, manipulation, visualization, and statistical computation for intelligence gathering. Also includes basic machine learning and decision-making using statistical concepts like hypothesis testing, confidence intervals via bootstrapping, regression, inference for regression, and predictive modeling. Teaching experience is desirable. Licenses/Certifications: When current occupational certification or license is required to practice in the field, applicant must posses a current, valid certification or license to practice in California.
