Test Engineer - Military Veterans

As a Test Engineer you will develop laboratory test plans, schedules, and process and summarize test data for reports. They have a facility that is both a warehouse and an engineering lab, with on-site chambers that they do testing of HVAC Systems in. Your job will be to set up test requests from Engineering for both Indoor and Outdoor HVAC systems that run at extreme hot and cold temperatures and test them to make sure nothing is failing and that it is working as it was designed to. A Test Technician will set up an environmental chamber that will test an HVAC or refrigeration system and you must check to make sure it is set up correctly. If so, you will set conditions for the test in a chamber and compile data from test equipment and send it to internal customers.

These tests can last from anywhere from 1 day to 6 months, with most being less than a month. The test equipment connects directly to the system, and you must pull data from it to put together an excel report, creating charts to submit to the Engineering team.

You will also maintain test equipment calibrations and maintenance records, schedule routine maintenance activities with outside vendors. At times you may need to research and implement test standards for specific equipment. You must also prepare and plan product certification testing for AHRI, EPA, and DOE yearly requirements.

- Coordinate special testing including seismic testing and certification for earthquake zone application, wind certification for hurricane prone areas, and sound testing of indoor and outdoor units according to specifications and code requirements, component electrical and mechanical testing

- Conduct field tests and field evaluations of HVAC systems, including site selection, equipment selection and data analysis

HVAC experience is not a must have for this role. If you have experience overseeing test equipment and pulling data, you could be a good fit for this role.

Base salary $70 - $85K, plus an 8.5% bonus, and a strong benefits plan. Monday through Friday day shift role that has a pretty flexible schedule. You can start from 6-8am and work a 9-hour day, including 1 hour for lunch. You can also elect to work a 9-day 80-hour schedule, working 10-hour days, with 1 hour for lunch and having a Friday or Monday off every 2 weeks. 15% travel.
