Job Summary and Qualifications
Duties:
· Knowledge of breast imaging examinations
· Prepares patient for procedure, explains procedure to patient. Monitors and reports changes in patient condition to appropriate healthcare providers
· Basic knowledge of computers and PACS system equipment and related software
· Obtains and documents accurate patient information on assessments and other forms
· Knowledge of Breast imaging and accessory equipment operations to ensure patient and guest safety and image quality
· Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy for optimum imaging
· Demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning for optimum imaging
· Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images, and ensures proper film identification on all images. Abides by Regulatory requirements, National Safety Goals, Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics
· Provides outstanding customer service skills at all times
· Technologist communicates procedure information to radiologist or other physician(s)
· Evaluates quality of procedure and determines if additional imaging is required
· Provides direct patient care to patients of specified ages
· Demonstrates ethical and professional conduct (attitude and behavior). Maintains licensure in a timely manner
· Ability to maintain confidential information and patient privacy
· Technologist contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality of continuity of patient care and safety
· Actively participates in MQRS
· Actively performs radiation safety measures
· Assist in mentoring new team members or students
· Performs other related duties as required
Minimum Requirements:
Education: A.S. in Radiological Health Science; Graduate of an AMH accredited school of Radiologic Technology
Licensure/Certifications: Registration by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensed by the Kentucky State Department of Health; Certification in Mammography required or obtained within 6 months of employment date. BLS required.
Experience: Graduate of Approved School of Radiography and at least two year of experience preferred
What qualifications you will need:- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Associate Degree
- Basic X-Ray Machine Operator, or State Registered Radiologic Technician
- Certified Mammographer, or Registered Radiology Technologist Mammographer, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT)
