Job Description:

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support is searching for a Software Developer to join their team in Fort Belvoir, VA.

DTRA is the Executive Agent for the Joint Staff Nuclear Weapons Stockpile Manager and is assigned the responsibility for maintaining the DoDs national nuclear weapons stockpile database using the Defense Integration and Management of Nuclear Data Services (DIAMONDS) application.

Individual needed to develop SQL databases and integrate with a C# application that interfaces with them. Ability to design tables, stored procedures, views, and functions. Our development process consists of designing: tables, storing procedures, views, and functions. They create custom reports and modify user forms to enhance organizational productivity. Sometimes they design databases and ensure their stability, reliability, and performance.

SQL developer must develop high-quality database solutions to implement and optimize with stored procedures and functions using Oracle PL/SQL. They will review and interpret ongoing business and functional requirements and research the required data structures. They must build appropriate and effective reporting deliverables with existing SQL and analyze existing SQL queries for performance improvements. They will investigate exceptions concerning asset movements.


  • Create and manage data flow and data models for various systems.


  • Provide troubleshooting and support for database instances in dedicated and multi-node clustered SQL Server environments.


  • Participate in identifying stored procedure enhancements for database performance, reliability, and stability.


  • Respond to client requests for data by mining a data warehouse.


  • Develop requirements from data requests and develop necessary SQL queries to produce output.


  • Act as a liaison between the development team leadership, coding teams, and support teams.


  • Provide guidance to software engineers, architects and additional team members.


  • Perform QA tests to ensure data integrity and quality.


  • Review workflow charts developed by business analysts and programmers.


  • Design and document database architecture using logical and physical data modeling tools and utilities.


  • Run routine and ad-hoc queries as requested by the client.


  • Conduct data exploration of new tables and schema in a data warehouse environment.


  • Participate in technical design and requirements gather meetings with stakeholders.


  • Assist with mapping activities to assist with data normalization activities.


  • Demonstrate ability to analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to team, management, and internal customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity.



Qualifications

  • BS degree and 5+ years of experience; additional years of experience, certifications, and training may be considered in lieu of degree,


  • Required: Active Secret clearance to start w/TS SCI eligibility.


  • Required: DOD 8570 IAT Level II, ex. CompTIA Security + w/CE.


  • Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server software and systems.


  • Experience with TOAD and TOAD data modeler


  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server.


  • Experience with C# coding language


  • Preferred: Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate


  • Preferred: Agile methodologies


  • Fluency in scripting, debugging and relational databases.


  • Comfortable running analysis services.


  • Preferred experience with DoDAF documentation.


  • Telework eligible, this is system and project specific.

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
