Lead DevOps Engineer - Military Veterans

The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for executing the tools and processes to bridge the gap between Development and Operational teams. This position will work with the development teams to meet acceptance criteria, gathering, and documenting the requirements. This requires a solid understanding of the SDLC, knowledge of best practices in engineering, and a willingness to apply them as we look to automate our processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement automation allowing for "push button" self-service.
  • Identify and develop efficiency improvement using empirical evidence to streamline repetitive business processes.
  • Identify, create, and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) creating improvement plans to eliminate system bottlenecks and security issues.
  • Assist in managing and extending current AWS infrastructure with focus on Security, Deployment, and high availability.
  • Design and Develop framework to enable scaled development and deployment.
  • Manage and build tooling for automated and continuous code deployments, fixes, updates, and related processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in automation and deployments.
  • Assist in process improvement and release management including configuration and batch processes.
  • Implement CI/CD Pipeline by managing quality and security policies/gates, designing a release strategy, setup up release management workflow, and implementing appropriate deployment patterns.
  • Work with Operations team to manage and guide on deployment activities.
  • Respond to alerts and outages on an as-needed basis.
  • Provide consultative customer facing support.

Skill Requirements:
  • 5+ years minimal of experience in software development, automation, and scripting
  • Experience developing and designing process in one or more clouds (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • A minimum of 5 year of experience with at least one of the following: code repository management, code merge, quality checks, CI through pipeline creation, automated deployment, or experience using a relevant tool (examples: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Git, Maven, Ant, SonarQube, or other similar tools)
  • Healthcare IT experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in high availability environments is preferred.

Education/Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering related fields
  • Cloud provider certification is a plus.

Additional Requirements:
  • Able to work on Eastern Time Zone (EST)
  • Experience and ability to work in a constantly changing, fast paced, deadline driven environment.
