Student worker to assist with research laboratory maintenance, monitor facilities for safety issues, perform administrative/clerical duties and complete other assignments as requested.

Essential Functions
  • Assist Division of Research staff with research lab maintenance. Includes cleaning instrumentation, checking equipment for proper function, as well as various other support duties.
  • Assist staff with monitoring research facilities for safety issues.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties.
  • Fill support role at the reception desk to accept package deliveries.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a currently enrolled student at Auburn University

Expectations:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be a team player and willing to do a wide variety of assignments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer study in science related field - Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Patho Biology, Pre-Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Kinesiology.
  • Mechanical aptitude with machinery helpful
  • Experience using hand tools helpful

Pay Rate

$12.00 - $15.00/hour

Work Hours

9am - 2pm; Monday-Friday (20 hours)

    Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.

    Today, Auburn is one of the few universities to carry the torch as a land, sea and space grant university. Our fall 2014 semester enrollment was 25,912. Our students can choose from more than 140 degree options in 13 schools and colleges at the undergraduate, graduate and professional levels.
