Cybersecurity Engineer II - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to assist our Navy customer with systems and technical engineering services. We will implement your expertise through a disciplined and rigorous Systems Engineering (SE) process across all mission areas of the system under development and sustainment.

Using your prowess and experience, help our customer define, document, and follow an open systems approach using modular design, standards-based interfaces, and widely supported consensus-based standards in hardware, software, subsystems, and elements that comprise the specific system.

Cyber Security Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Participating as a member in various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and working groups.

  • Developing Cyber Defense-in-Depth Architecture Diagrams for the system, the sub-network, and platform network into which the system will be integrated.

  • Developing, maintaining, and performing Cyber test procedures and document results.

  • Developing and updating Cyber Risk Mitigation Plans. Develop and maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages in accordance with NAVSEA business rules.

  • Documenting cross-domain interfaces. Review Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability scans. Review, analyze and evaluate Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and/or Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) content for each applicable system component.

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to create systems solutions that support overall business strategies.

  • Documenting system requirements, define scope and objectives, and create system specifications that drive system development and implementation.

  • Functioning as a liaison between Cyber Security professionals and users and have both business and technical expertise.

  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.

  • Working independent and collaborative in nature.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field and at least three (3) years of full-time professional experience in network computer equipment, system, and security.

OR
  • Associate's Degree in a technical field and at least five (5) years of full-time professional experience in network computer equipment, system, and security.

AND
  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DOD) Information Assurance (IA) mandatory policies standards, procedures, and policies. Cyber Information Technology (IT)/Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Intermediate Level knowledge and skills, at a minimum, with a IAT Level II certification in IA standards and policies.

  • Must have an Active SECRET US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
