Job Description:
Requirements Elicitation, Understanding, Analysis, & Management
•\tUnderstand the project's Vision and requirements, and contribute to the creation of the supplemental requirements, building the low-level technical specifications for a particular platform and/or service solution.
Project Planning, Tracking, & Reporting
•\tEstimate the tasks and resources required to design, create (build), and test the code for assigned module(s).
•\tProvide inputs in creating the detailed schedule for the project.
•\tSupport the team in project planning activities, in evaluating risks, and shuffle priorities based on unresolved issues.
•\tDuring development and testing, ensure that assigned parts of the project/modules are on track with respect to schedules and quality.
•\tNote scope changes within the assigned modules and work with the team to shuffle priorities accordingly.
•\tCommunicate regularly with the team about development changes, scheduling, and status.
•\tParticipate in project review meetings.
•\tTracking and reporting progress for assigned modules
Design:
•\tCreate a detailed (LLD) design for the assigned piece(s) with possible alternate solutions.
•\tEnsure that LLD design meets business requirements.
•\tSubmit the LLD design for review.
•\tFix the detailed (LLD) design for the assigned piece(s) for the comments received from team.
Development & Support
•\tBuild the code of high-priority and complex systems according to the functional specifications, detailed design, maintainability, and coding and efficiency standards.
•\tUse code management processes and tools to avoid versioning problems.
•\tEnsure that the code does not affect the functioning of any external or internal systems.
•\tPerform peer reviews of code to ensure it meets coding and efficiency standards.
•\tAct as the primary reviewer to review the application code created by software engineers to ensure compliance to defined standards. Recommend changes to the code as required.
Testing & Debugging
•\tAttend the Test Design walkthroughs to help verify that the plans and conditions will test all functions and features effectively.
•\tPerform impact analysis for issues assigned to self and Software Engineers /Sr Engineers.
•\tActively assist with project- and code-level problem solving, such as suggesting paths to explore when testing engineers or software engineers encounter a debugging problem, and escalate urgent issues.
Documentation
•\tReview technical documentation for the code for accuracy, completeness, and usability.
•\tDocument and maintain the reviews conducted and the unit test results.
Process Management
•\tAdhere to the project and support processes.
•\tAdhere to best practices and comply with approved policies, procedures, and methodologies, such as the SDLC cycle for different project sizes.
•\tShows responsibility for corporate funds, materials and resources.
•\tEnsure adherence to SDLC and audits requirements.
•\tAdhere to best practices and comply with approved policies, procedures, and methodologies.
Coaching and Mentoring
•\tAct as a technical subject matter expert for the internal team on areas such as system functionality and approach including solving systems operations issues, performance initiatives. Leverage existing knowledge and expertise in multiple ways.
•\tBuild team skills using formal and/or informal training sessions.
•\tCreate and maintain knowledge repositories for lessons learnt and developments in the respective domains.
Qualifications:
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced API Integration Solution Architect to join our dynamic team at Guardian Life Insurance.
The ideal candidate must be having 9-1 2 years of experience in software development, with expertise in Java 8, Spring Boot,
REST API, microservices architecture, Maven, Splunk, and other relevant technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the API Management Platform transformation project, driving strategic direction and governance of API architecture
- Create and manage a centralized API catalog to streamline the API management
- Develop/enforce APIOps full life cycle management practices for effective API governance
- Execute the API strategy, standards, security, and governance
- Develop and maintain the API and integration reference architecture, pattern and frameworks to ensure consistency and reliability
- Ensure API security and reusability.
- Engaging with business leaders, identify the gaps, understand the technology environment, anticipate the challenges for architecture design. Also align with business units for the API and integration roadmap
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and create scalable and reliable systems, fostering excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement
- Mentor and guide engineers to for delivery of high quality API solution
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in resolving complex technical issues and challenges.
- Utilize Splunk for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability through code reviews, testing, and refactoring.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry and insurance sector trends to drive innovation and maintain competitiveness.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or MCA.
• Minimum of 9 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Java and related technologies with at least Java version 8.
• 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot, REST/SOAP API development, microservices architecture, documentation of APIs, Maven and logs analysis platforms like splunk.
• At least 5+ experience in architecture and good understanding of API design and system integration (TOGAF certification is preferred )
• Experience with writing unit test cases and the relevant frameworks.
• Experience with enterprise API management.
• Good understanding of GIT, docker, kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with RDBMS and writing sql queries (Oracle preferred)
• Practical hands-on experience with distributed cloud-based environments and their native services - (AWS preferred)
• Experience working in Agile methodology and tools like JIRA, confluence etc.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, SOLID principles and best practices.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex projects on time.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in the insurance industry is mandatory
