Postdoctoral Fellow - Retina Biochemistry & Clinical Disease Modeling Laboratory The UCLA Stein Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology invite applications for postdoctoral scholars to work on basic science and translational research projects in The Retina Biochemistry & Clinical Disease Modeling Laboratory. Radu group focuses on studying the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) in normal and pathological status pertinent to Stargardt disease and age-related macular degeneration. Research: Current studies are directed towards understanding the intercellular organelle dynamics in the RPE centered on lysosomes maturation, recycling of retinoids and lipids relevant to cell bioenergetics (mitochondria), and identification of complement-mediated signaling pathways in aging and disease status. Projects will include in vivo studies utilizing novel mouse models and in vitro biochemical and electrophysiological approaches to investigate disease pathology in a
