Director of Clinical Microbiology at the UCSF Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital The Department of Laboratory Medicine, University of California San Francisco School of Medicine invites applicants with an M.D. or Ph.D. (M.D. preferred) to apply for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (based on experience) in the HS Clinical or Clinical X series. This faculty member will serve as the Director of Clinical Microbiology in the Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Pathology or by the American Board of Medical Microbiology (ABMM) and hold/be eligible for a California license. They must be committed to providing excellent clinical service, show aptitude for scholarly activities, and be actively involved in the training of medical students, residents, and fellows. The Microbiology Director assures the accurate performance, timely reporting, and appropriate utilization of the laboratory services offered by the Division of Microbiology and Serology in the Clinical Laboratory at Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG). The Microbiology and Serology Section performs a broad range of diagnostic tests for the diagnosis of infectious and autoimmune diseases. The Clinical Laboratory at ZSFG provides laboratory testing services for inpatients and outpatients of ZSFG, Laguna Honda Hospital, District Health Centers and other facilities under the auspices of the SF Public Health Department. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 . The minimum base salary range for this position is $142,800-$377,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
