General Description: The Elevate Tech Talent for Startups Initiative is a dynamic program led by the Kaplan Institute and the Career Services departments at Illinois Institute of Technology, aimed at fostering impactful collaborations between diverse tech talent and Chicago-based startups. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to bridge the gap between underrepresented tech talent and the vibrant startup ecosystem by creating meaningful project-based collaborations. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tech Talent Program Coordinator to play a key role in our innovative Tech Talent program. This individual will be responsible for leading the recruitment efforts, ensuring a diverse pool of tech talent is identified, selected, and matched with startup projects. Additionally, the role involves project management responsibilities, overseeing various phases of the program to ensure its successful implementation and impact. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a groundbreaking program at the intersection of tech talent, startups, and diversity and inclusion. Department: Kaplan Institute Position Category: Part Time Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree required. Two-plus years experience at a higher education institution, in technical recruiting, or in a project management role is preferred. Knowledge & Skills: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with the tech ecosystem and startup landscape, with solid understand of skillsets being sought by these organizations. Previous experience in mentorship program coordination is a plus. Ability to problem solve, think critically, and explain decisions rationally Comfort with working with a variety of stakeholders students, staff, faculty, external vendors/partners Appreciation for and commitment to multiculturalism; Possess professional standards of conduct including a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Good to have: Proven experience in technical recruiting, with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
