This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of Postdoctoral Research Scientist is an exciting one. Key Responsibilities As a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist in our program, candidate will be doing research in the area of viral infections, focused on mechanisms of entry and membrane fusion mediated by SARS-CoV-2 and measles virus. Candidate will apply techniques including peptide and small molecule assessment and molecular biology that was mastered during the candidates PhD studies. Candidate must have extensive training in biophysical, molecular biology and cell biology methods. Candidate will collaborate on projects that involve investigators at Columbia University, Cornell Ithaca, and Erasmus Medical Center. Must have a doctorate degree (M.D. or Ph.D.) Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines. The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions. The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
