CCESL & Geneva 2030 Program Assistant Hobart William Smith Colleges Location: Geneva, NY Open Date: Mar 06, 2024 Description The Program Assistant will support the Colleges' Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning (CCESL) commitment to the civic development of HWS students through Compass program facilitation. As a nationally ranked civic engagement program, Compass is the four tiered developmental sequence of awareness and skill building that CCESL aims to impart upon HWS students (community service, civic engagement, civic leadership, and engaged citizenship). Essential Responsibilities: As front-line contact, the Assistant will work with students, faculty, staff, and Geneva partners to connect constituent groups to current information and opportunities Maintain current CCESL website, HWS Engage Civic Leader contact information, and local/regional community partner contact information Manage inventory for office supplies, consultant contracts, room reservations, and assist with coordination of related publicity for CCESL and Geneva 2030 events Coordinate the publicity and marketing for service opportunities via the promotion of the Compass Times monthly service e-newsletter and HWS Engage Supervise CCESL Geneva 2030 student office staff and interns Coordinate student assistant work schedules, office training and monitor progress of assigned tasks/projects training of student staff to help ensure their success Oversee administrative support of payroll and hiring associated with America Reads Federal work-study program in partnership with Financial Aid and Human Resources Facilitate HWS Tutor Corps through recruitment, training and coordinated paid tutor and volunteer placement with the Geneva Boys and Girls Club When available lead a March alternative spring break trip. Maintain and manage the annual service hours tracking with campus departments Support the work and mission of Geneva 2030 through assistance with marketing, social media, public relations/content creations, and community partner outreach When appropriate, serve on a local board, non-profit, or community organization as a representative of the office and campus community. Perform the requirements as a Campus Security Authority pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act (20 U.S.C. 1092 (f) (Clery Act). Manage HWS Engage, Unimarket (receipt reconciliation), etc Other duties as assigned. Other Information: This is a part-time, twelve-month, benefits-eligible, administrative hourly (non-exempt) position. Normal campus office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Events and programming require flexibility of hours, evening and weekend hours may be required at times. Annual rate- $20,000 Qualifications The successful candidate will have earned an Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field and have public service and leadership experience. Applicants must possess superb oral and written communication skills and have the ability to work with people in diverse settings. Individuals who have a strong record of demonstrating initiative, planning and organization skills, and commitment to community will be given priority in the selection process.
