University of California Irvine Junior Specialist - (Bilingual: English/Spanish) Dr. Yassa Lab The University of California, Irvine, Department of Neurobiology and Behavior, seeks a bilingual Junior Specialist, fluent in English and Spanish, for research in learning and memory at the Translational Neuroscience Laboratory (TNL). The TNL is a NIH-funded multi-project laboratory which focuses on integrative neuroscience research on learning and memory mechanisms with translational applications to education, technology, and clinical disorders. The Junior Specialist will work within the study team of researchers in the lab focusing on a large NIA-funded research study investigating biomarkers for cognitive impairment. Duties include study participant recruitment, screening, visit scheduling, neuropsychological and cognitive assessment administration, particularly in a Spanish-speaking participant population. Duties will also include data entry and analysis and additionally will collect Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data from study participants (experience with MR Image acquisition is helpful, but training will be provided as necessary). This position is offered at a 100%-time appointment for one year with the potential to renew annually. Salaries are based on University of California salary scales, which are dependent on academic rank and step, and commensurate with experience. Interested candidates should submit an application at https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF08882 QUALIFICATIONS Basic qualifications (required at time of application) Required: 1) Bachelor's or Master's degree in psychology, neuroscience, neuroimaging, or related field, 2) Excellent oral and written communication skills, 3) Fluency in English and Spanish for reading research protocols, documenting data into charts, and communicating with research participants, 4) Exceptional record-keeping, organizational, and time-management skills and ability to multi-task, 5) Ability to build and maintain rapport with research participants, colleagues, and international collaborators. Desired: 1) Human subjects research experience including knowledge of IRB, NIH, HIPAA and other regulatory rules and requirements, 2) Experience collecting Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data from human subjects, 3) Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
