PEDIATRIC NEUROLOGIST | University of Wisconsin Madison - Military Veterans

Job Summary: The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a child neurologist with subspeciality training in Epilepsy, Stroke, Neuroimmunology, Movement Disorders, or general pediatric neurologists interested in joining our expanding Pediatric Neurology and Comprehensive Epilepsy Programs at UW Hospital and Clinics, American Family Children's Hospital and affiliated locations. The Section of Pediatric Neurology has recruited six pediatric epileptologists and six pediatric neurologists with subspecialty training in neuromuscular diseases, sleep, headache, and neonatal neurology and plans to expand further. This position includes opportunities for teaching and research. Responsibilities: The positions include opportunities for teaching, clinical and research activities in an academic environment with pediatric and adult epileptologists, general pediatric neurologists, faculty in other services including pediatrics, neuropsychology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, clinical neurophysiology and basic science research faculty. Clinical activities will involve attending duties in neurology clinics and inpatient services at the free-standing American Family Children's hospital at the University of Wisconsin, Unity Point Meriter Hospital, and affiliated regional hospitals and clinics as well as several outreach locations in the State of Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Teaching responsibilities include teaching medical student courses and clerkship, mentoring graduate students and trainees, training pediatric and adult neurology residents, fellows and medical students and teaching continuing education programs for physicians and the public. Research activities include development of independent, extramurally funded research program. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Must have a WI medical license by the time of appointment. Must be ABPN or AOBNP board eligible or certified in Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology. Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track. Candidates for Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician Teacher track. License/Certification: Required MD - Physician - State Licensure Must have completed a child neurology residency program, fellowship trained in Epilepsy, Stroke, Neuroimmunology, Movement Disorders, or equivalent experience. Must have a WI medical license by the time of appointment. Must be ABPN or AOBNP board eligible or certified in Neurology with special qualifications in child neurology. Work Type: Full or Part Time: 40- 100% It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
