Maintenance Technician I - Military Veterans

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Summary This role is responsible for performing maintenance and repair of equipment. The position has interface with other Technicians in the repair of production and facility equipment. In this role, they are responsible for assuring a safe and healthful workplace and will show by example a commitment to employee involvement and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment.

  • Install and/or maintain varied types of machinery and other equipment.

  • Confer with Machine Operators and observe, listen for problems, test, and evaluate operation of machinery to diagnose cause of malfunctions.

  • Disassemble damaged or worn equipment/units, repair/replace defective components, reassemble and test.

  • Weld new, worn or broken machine parts.

  • Fabricate sheet metal products such as covers, part chutes, chain/gear guards, stands, platforms, etc.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

  • Check oil, water, fuel, and other fluids before operating machinery and equipment.

  • Records repair time, parts, and maintenance notes in the Maintenance Management System on every job.

  • Maintain 100% compliance and completion of all required training.

  • Demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to learn manufacturing principles and techniques.

  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.

  • Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as required.



QUALIFICATIONS

Basic

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years' mechanical work experience

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Skills

  • Understand, read and write Standard English and perform shop math calculations.

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and schematics. Use scales, vernier calipers, micrometers, and other gages.

  • Operate mobile equipment, power shears, benders, grinders, powered hand and machine tools and related equipment.

  • Perform arc and acetylene welding.

  • Identify components in manufacturers' maintenance and parts manuals.

  • The salary range for this position is $22.06 - $29.79 per hour.
