Overview
Electric Boat's Nuclear Test Engineering Department (D275) has openings for highly motivated Test Engineer Sr - Nuclear.
The Test Engineer Sr (Test Procedure Writer) position responsibilities include preparing nuclear test procedures to support construction, maintenance, and repairs of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants at Electric Boat and the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department (NRMD) in Groton, Connecticut.
Researches technical manuals, plant diagrams, and local instructions to obtain additional information and ensure the safe operation of equipment, procedure flow and workability, and adherence to regulatory requirements and local writing guidelines.
Coordinates reviews, comment resolution and approvals of procedures with internal department and regulatory agencies. Provides technical guidance to less experienced writers and may participate in peer review to ensure procedure consistency.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 4+ years experience working in Nuclear Testing, Shipboard Testing, Engineering or equivalent experience as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plant Operator, Supervisor, or Maintenance Technician
- Technical Writing/Procedure Writing experience
- Computer Skills/Word Processing Software experience
- Virginia Class and Los Angeles Class Plant experience
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Framemaker
- USN Reactor Controls (RC) Division
