The Coordinator of Quantitative Academic Support will manage and coordinate academic assistance programs to provide effective learning support for students in quantitative discipline with the Center for Learning Resources (CLR). This includes overseeing tutoring programs, study sessions, and other resources aimed at enhancing the overall educational experience for graduate and undergraduate students. This position will also focus on processing efficient utilization data to assess the impact and effectiveness of student support services provided by the CLR.
You Will:
Oversee statistical and analytical tutors, and working one-on-one with graduate students on long-term statistical and data-driven projects
Provide tutoring and workshops in R, C/C++, Python, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, and other statistical and computer-based skills
Facilitate workshops through Center for Learning Resources, Center for Teaching Excellence and/or the Center for Student Success on best practices in quantitative learning
Coordinate with the Provost's Office to identify additional areas of need
In collaboration with other CLR employees, coordinated learning assistants in quantitative courses where appropriate
In collaboration with other CLR employees, help manage Navigate student messaging and tracking
In collaboration with other CLR employees, process utilization data to provide recommendations on future course support and staffing, and assess the effectiveness of implemented support services
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
And...
In collaboration in other CLR employees, provide general oversight to all tutors during open hours
Assist in maintain the facility, including submitting facilities and IT reports as needed and monitoring their completion
Help prepare for and staff tabling events, summer programs, and represent the CLR during accepted student days, open houses, convocations, and campus tours
Attend all staff meetings and assist in presentation of material to staff and students
You Have:
Master's degree required in a STEM or other quantitative field
Demonstrated relevant experience in higher education and/or academic support
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with faculty
Demonstrated ability with database software, intermediate data analysis, visual representation of data and knowledge of statistical software
Demonstrated ability with R, C/C++, Python, Excel, PowerBI, Tableau;
Demonstrated strong organizational, writing and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to learn and use new technology
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated sensitivity to and respect for diverse populations
