Job Description Summary: Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach collision repair courses designed for career technical programs while caring for and maintaining the collision repair facilities. The faculty member must be able to instruct a wide variety of topics within the curriculum in a laboratory environment and may be required to teach day, evening and/or weekend hours. Education Required: -Diploma in Collision Repair Technology or a related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution with the ability to attain an Associate's degree within one year of hire. - ASE certifications in Painting & Refinishing, Structural Damage, and Non-Structural Damage Education Preferred: -Associate's degree in Collision Repair Technology from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution -I- CAR certifications - ASE certification in Estimating and Mechanical Experience Required: -3 years of relevant industry experience as a Collision Repair Technician, to include: * vehicle painting; * non-structural vehicle repairs; * structural vehicle repairs; * reading and writing estimates Experience Preferred: -Greater than 3 years of relevant industry experience as a Collision Repair Technician, to include: * vehicle painting; * non-structural vehicle repairs; * structural vehicle repairs; * reading and writing estimates -Additional specialized industry experience, in any of the following: * computer measuring systems; * computer paint mixing; * computer estimating systems; * vehicle mechanical repairs -Post-secondary teaching experience and/or industry training experience. -Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes. -Experience with a learning management system, e.g., Moodle, Blackboard, etc.
