Surgical Pathologist - Assistant Professor to Associate Professor FH-1749 | Brown University - Military Veterans

The Department of Pathology at The Miriam Hospital and the Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a surgical pathologist with broad competency in surgical pathology, and additional interest and expertise in GU, GI, gynecologic, or pulmonary pathology, to join the Lifespan Academic Medical Center. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Minimum requirements include: board certification in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (or Canadian equivalent). Fellowship subspecialty training and board certification are desirable, if available in the subspecialty area. The incumbents will be expected to participate in an independent or collaborative research program in the general areas of surgical pathology or the subspecialty. The incumbents will also be expected to participate in the teaching of residents and fellows in the department and in fellowship programs in other departments, in the teaching of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine courses, in supervising clerkships for medical students at Brown University and/or in providing instructional support to the medical technologist's training program in the Department of Pathology. Candidates should have experience in a university hospital or comparable institution with an active surgical service. Those candidates applying at the rank of Associate Professor must have a national reputation and scholarly achievements appropriate to this level.
