Instructor, Diesel and Heavy Equipment Technology - Adjunct | Guilford Technical Community College - Military Veterans

Job Description Summary: Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college. Under general supervision, this individual will prepare and teach diesel and heavy equipment courses designed for career technical programs. The faculty member must be able to instruct a wide variety of topic areas in both a lecture and laboratory environment and may be required to teach day, evening and/or weekend hours. Education Required: - Associate's degree in an Automotive/Diesel Heavy Equipment field from a regionally accredited college/university. - ASE certification as a Master Technician (Medium Heavy Truck [T2-T7] or individual ASE certifications in T3- Drive Train, T7- Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning and T8- Preventative Maintenance Inspection. Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university. Experience Required: -Three years documented experience in the Diesel Heavy Equipment/Trucking industry Experience Preferred: -More than three years of documented experience in the Diesel Heavy Equipment/Trucking industry. -Post-secondary teaching or industry training experience in Diesel or Heavy Equipment topics. -Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
