QA/Safety/FOD Manager - Military Veterans

Task Description: QA/Safety/FOD Manager

 

Primary interface for all quality and safety matters, providing Flight Line, Corrosion Control, Tool Room and Organizational Level Maintenance support. Assists in managing day-to-day organizational-level support maintenance in accordance with (IAW) the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS) in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) P-3 aircraft. Assists in coordinating and managing technical and administrative operations and all other aspects of support program to ensure timely availability of weapon systems to meet specified operational requirements. Ensures Contractor Maintenance Services (CMS) meet or exceed contract performance requirements. Provides expertise and advice on technical, and logistical matters and the effective use of CMS efforts. Coordinates maintenance program IAW all applicable maintenance management documents and directives.

 

Task Requirements:

 





  • Directly responsible and accountable to Site Manager for Quality and Safety Programs.


  • Assists in performing duties as interface with Government Representative and submits required reports.


  • Performs duties as primary interface with Contract Quality Program and Corporate Director of Quality and submits required reports accordingly.


  • Provides local oversight of Quality Management System (QMS), training and safety programs.


  • Audits site to ensure compliance with QMS and safety requirements.


  • Accountable for assigned Company Owned Property, Government Furnished Property, and Government Furnished Equipment.


  • Documents work performed on appropriate forms, electronic database and definitive sheets, as required.


  • You will use your knowledge of inspection techniques of aircraft systems, equipment and parts to ensure operation and conformance to the customer and company standards and specifications.


  • You will monitor and verify quality, safety and FOD in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.


  • Communicate directly with customers to ensure customer satisfaction. 


  • Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, subcontractor and supplier quality, manufacturing and engineering in accordance with contractual and system requirements.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.




 

Out of country travel may be required for this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 





  • 20+ Years Aviation Maintenance Support with 4 year degree or equivalent; or 15+ Years Aviation Maintenance Support with Master’s Degree; or equivalent (1-for-1 equiv. for exempt years of experience).


  • Eight years as a Maintenance Officer or senior maintenance NCO responsible for Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP).


  • Extensive knowledge of Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) with a minimum of 20 years’ experience and 15 years’ experience supporting P-3 and/or EP-3E aircraft.


  • FAA IA




Basic Qualifications:





  • 10+ Years Aviation Maintenance Support with 4 year degree or equivalent; or 8+ Years Aviation Maintenance Support with Master’s Degree; or equivalent (1-for-1 equiv. for exempt years of experience).


  • A minimum of 4 years experience on P-3 or similar platform.


  • A minimum of 8 years experience with the application and use of technical data and blueprints.


  • Ability to analyze situations to discover facts, knowledge, interpretations to carry out prescribed action(s).


  • A minimum of 3 years of Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and leading those teams.


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.


  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.


  • A current U.S. passport, accept period time away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements.


  • Ability to obtain CBP Secret clearance




 

Compensation

$100,000/year

 

Other Compensation

Employees will receive a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.00 for every hour worked.

Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in KAI’s 401k plan.  Employees have a minimum of eleven paid holidays and accrue 4.615 hours of PTO per pay period.

 

Employment is contingent on (a) your ability to provide appropriate proof of your identity and eligibility to work in the United States; (b) your references and any background check being satisfactory to the Company; (c) you successfully passing a pre-employment drug test; and (d) your ability to get a required clearance by your effective start date, if needed; and (e) KAI commencing performance on this contract.
