Job Summary
We are seeking candidates for a Part-time Nurse position for clinical services performed under contract with the State Employee Insurance Board at the State Wellness Center in downtown Montgomery, AL, down the street from the Capitol.
The center serves as a convenient and free source of urgent/acute care for state employee insurance members and their covered dependents, age 12 and older. This job is a fantastic opportunity for working nurses looking for a second source of income, or a primary job for candidates who prefer an intermittent schedule and aren't committed to regular hours. We're looking for someone who can work between 5-20 hours per week, serving as a backup to ensure full coverage at the center.

Essential Functions
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatments and collects objective and subjective assessment data in preparation for the patient's exam.
- Serves as a productive member of the interdisciplinary care team providing input into care decisions.
- Provides direct patient care such as administration of medications and immunizations.
- Documents patient care provided and follows all regulatory guidelines.
- Communicates test results to patients under the direction of the primary care practitioners.
- Coordinates medical care with other providers when patients are referred to other providers.
- Prepares and maintains clinical supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent in a technical or scientific field related to area of assignment.
- Must have a valid license as a practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN).
Note: AU students are not eligible for TES positions.

Welcome to Auburn University!
Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.
