Project Engineer - Bridge Design - Military Veterans

The Project Engineer will work on design projects for a variety of clients including NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, PANYNJ and/or NYSTA, as well as local counties and municipalities. The Project Engineer will join a talented group of individuals to help deliver some of the Northeast region's most important projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform complex structural analysis and prepare design calculations.
- Develop or assist in developing structural details and construction plans using a variety of industry standard software packages.
- Assist and check design calculations performed by others.
- Prepare geometric/bridge layouts, construction specifications, and material quantity calculations.
- Supervise, mentor, and train other structural engineering staff with less experience.
- Successfully interface with staff from a range of other disciplines (traffic, civil, planning, etc.) to support a diverse range of projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Bridge and Structures. Advanced degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structures a plus.
- 8-10+ years of progressive bridge design experience preferred. Will consider candidates with less experience who meet other requirements.
- Must possess a valid New York Professional Engineering License
- Familiarity with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, PANYNJ and/or NYSTA project processes and standards.
- Prior experience as a Project Engineer on a NYSDOT or NYCDOT bridge project preferred.
- Experience with the design of multiple bridge types in concrete and steel, and knowledge of staged construction analysis.
- Experience with and understanding of AASHTO LRFD design and complex structural analysis software such Midas including and CSi Bridge is required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance and serve as a task lead on bridge projects.
- Experience with Design-Build delivery, preferred.

The approximate compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $135,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
