Job Description Summary: The Teaching Assistant is responsible for providing instructional classroom support under the supervision of an Adult Education lead instructor. Work includes tutoring and leading small groups of students within the assigned class to provide targeted, contextualized instruction to help students improve reading, math, and/or English language skills. This person will report directly to an Adult Education Director. This person will also assist with documenting attendance, providing feedback on student work, lesson planning, recommendations for progress testing, student retention, and other duties as needed for the Adult Education programs. Education Required: Associate degree or equivalent at a regionally accredited postsecondary institution Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field, or at least four years of related teaching experience. Experience Required: Experience providing instruction in an academic setting Experience Preferred: Experience providing instruction in Adult Education, working with English language learners, and/or working with students with disabilities
