Epic Analyst II- Cadence/Prelude | Boston Children's Hospital - Military Veterans

Job Summary Serves as a team member of the department's support for the Epic Cadence and/or Prelude application and end-users. Work requires an understanding of the context and the relationships between operations and Epic related systems in addition to understanding the basis for current configurations in order to resolve complex problems. This Epic Analyst II will be responsible for: Area Resource. Serves as a team resource with a knowledge of assigned operations, the related Epic application and relationships with other Epic products.. Work typically requires an understanding of context and relationships between operations and Epic related systems in addition to understanding the basis for current configurations (i.e., historical decisions) in order to resolve complex problems. Solutions typically involve changes to data, rules, and templates and often have large downstream implications with provider schedules and template, front desk work-flows, including check-in, registration, and scheduling. Outlines the necessary build, highlighting considerations and estimating time for completion. Proposes solutions for team or management review as appropriate. Triage/Troubleshooting. Participates in analyzing tickets to identify need for project-based work (e.g., enhancement and upgrades). Typically conducts initial scoping of moderately complex requests. Builds/Configurations. Following departmental protocol, independently performs moderately complex configuration to address business needs. Modifies rules which are often characterized by multiple variables, use of new elements or properties (e.g., visit types in Cadence), creation of templates based on standards, some custom logic. Records decisions and applicable business rules and prepares or may assist in preparing user documentation. Conducts unit tests of own work and engages team members in second level QA testing. Adheres to department build standards, procedures and change control process relating to own work. May take an active role in assisting or testing portions of more complex builds. Integrations. Coordinates the implementation of solutions impacting the application, the vendors, end users, and supporting technical teams. Researches and analyzes the functionality of vendor and internally developed applications as it relates to the application. Upgrades and Ongoing Maintenance. Participates in upgrades by reviewing release notes that impact the Epic application. Outlines the necessary build and/or testing for review by team members or manager. Communicates upgrade milestones to project. Escalates to manager as appropriate. Creates, maintains and updates relevant test scripts. Communications. Engages in ongoing communication with end-users related to application. Employs strong communication skills to explain complex issues and influence others in reaching and implementing solutions. Participates in regular routine communications with Epic representatives, including participating in recurring project team meetings to review outstanding support, request assistance, etc. User Training. Regularly obtains feedback from super-users and their managers. May provide specialty training to user groups. In order to qualify, you must have: Epic certification in Cadence and/or Prelude Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with an additional 2 years of related experience or a high school diploma/GED with an additional 4 years of related experience may substitute for a Bachelor's Degree. 1 year of experience directly involved in Epic application support in Cadence and/or Prelude performing straightforward builds or template management.
