Events Specialist III University of California Riverside Job Number: 31758894 Full/Part Time: Full Time Schedule: 8AM - 5PM Salary: $64,300 - $114,300 Position Information The Events Specialist for the Department of Dance at UCR will be responsible for independent planning, development, and execution of all events, performances, and productions for the Dance Department including undergraduate and graduate research-driven productions, faculty-initiated conferences, colloquium, guest artist talks, presentations, and performances, as well as other various other department events and performances. This position will lead and oversee all administrative and logistical coordination relating to each Dance Event and Production. This position will also maintain access, scheduling, and key control for the shared rehearsal spaces within the Department of Dance. The Dance Events Specialist will work as a liaison with the Performing Arts Administration (PAA) staff for transaction support. This individual will also work as a liaison between the Dance Faculty, the Department Chair, and PAA to ensure all budgetary, policy, procedures, and safety requirements are met. This position will also have a dotted line reporting to the Financial Administrative Officer (FAO) in PAA for all purchase order responsibilities. The full salary range for the Events Specialist III is $64,300.00 - $114,300.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Education Education Requirements Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Master's degree in related field Preferred Experience Experience Requirement 4 - 7 years of related experience. Required Minimum of 3 years experience working with student employees Preferred Minimum of 3 years experience working in Higher Education Event coordination Preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience dealing with managing high volume levels of incoming communication and requests coming from multiple sources. Preferred Minimum Requirements Ability to give clear directives and use independent, rational judgment to make optimal decisions. Demonstrated organizational and project management skills to work successfully with clients to produce high quality events that meet client needs and appropriately represent the campus; that is, for fundraising events, skills to provide excellent donor stewardship. Skill in effectively meeting budget and time constraints. Ability to effectively work with invited guests, donors, government officials and university VIPs. Knowledge of crowd management, crowd safety protocols, security and emergency procedures related to small, medium and large scale gatherings. Experience maintaining a high standard of productivity within a broad scope of responsibility despite frequent interruptions. Ability to complete large volume of diverse tasks efficiently, meeting established deadlines. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills including political acumen and social perceptiveness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with diverse populations with competing priorities. Knowledge of principles and practices of volunteer recruitment, supervision, motivation and evaluation. Proven ability to work on several tasks simultaneously. Skill at responding effectively to priorities and setting deadlines. Highly developed judgment, decision-making and problem recognition/avoidance/resolution skills, including skill in determining those issues/problems that need to be brought to management's attention. Knowledge and skill to set and monitor work standards and protocols. Thorough knowledge and understanding of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and public relations, including event design, organization and production. Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, programs, policies, achievements and infrastructure. Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to the use of University facilities; event management and presentation. Knowledge of Google Drive, Adobe Suite and Wordpress.
