New minimally invasive therapies are expanding options forpatients nationally and locally here at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University. Among the highest growth areas is the sub-specialty of Interventional Oncology (IO), where Interventional Radiologists with subspecialty training in Interventional Radiology perform minimally invasive, image guided therapies for a variety of malignancies. Due to continued growth of our IO service, we have a need for another full-time faculty member. This person will work closely with the multidisciplinary cancer team at RIH, including surgeons, medical oncologist and radiation oncologists. Fellowship training in interventional radiology is required, and a focus on interventional oncology is desired, but not required. A minimum of 20% protected time for research shall be provided initially. The successful candidate must qualify for a full-time medical faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Minimum requirements include: board eligibility or certification in Diagnostic Radiology and dedicated Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology. A desire to focus on Interventional Oncology is desired, but not required. The candidate must have a strong clinical background in Interventional radiology, excellence in patient care and teaching with a demonstrated ability to work with individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, and a commitment to scholarly participation in the research programs of The Warren Alpert Medical School. Clinical coverage in Diagnostic Radiology including coverage of a busy Emergency Department at the Level 1 trauma center may be needed. A minimum of 20% academic time will be provided.
