Coordinates all activities required to effectively lay out work, set-up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed fabrication and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules. Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.
Responsibilities
Includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Consistently meet and exceed deadlines for assigned tasks
- Efficiently produce parts that meet and exceed quality standards as determined by the Production Supervisor and/or Quality Inspector
- Perform set ups and operation of the below machinery properly and safely:
- Shear
- Riveter
- Drill Press
- Strippit Punch Press
- Roller
- Disk Sander
- Portable Power Tools
- Band Saw, Table Saw, and Miter Saw
- Hand Brake
- Manual Brake Press
- Mill
- Lathe
- Trouble-shoot machine problems and perform preventative maintenance
- Other duties as assigned/needed
Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- 1 year related experience and/or training
- Must have a High School Degree or GED equivalent
- Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions including but not limited to basic correspondence and blueprints
- Effectively able to present information and respond to questions from managers, supervisors, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume
- Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry
- Ability to apply a common sense approach and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Fork lift and overhead crane training and certification preferred
