Job Overview


Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Field Service Technician for our Forestry Equipment Team. 


Key Job Responsibilities



  • Primary focus is maintaining a safe work environment and employing safe work practices on a consistent basis.

  • Work both independently and with others on a team.

  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs and component replacement on equipment in the shop or in the field.

  • Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions.

  • Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers and coworkers.

  • Clean tools, clean equipment, paint and grease equipment as needed.

  • Prevent damage due to mistakes or carelessness to equipment or materials.

  • Respond to all customer requests in a courteous, professional and timely manner.

  • Any other duties as appropriate and required.  Flexibility with travel based on needs and overall company objectives.


Compensation and Benefits


If selected for employment, you will be eligible for:



  • $35.00 - $40.00 an hour base pay (w/ 5+ hours of projected weekly overtime pay), plus annual merit compensation review and bonus payout.

  • Personal Protective Equipment provided with reimbursement for steel/composite boots and required eye protection.

Qualifications/Requirements



  • 1 year of experience in similar type role.

  • Experience with LeTourneau log stackers is a plus.

  • Knowledge of advanced trade mathematics.

  • Ability to interpret and understand complicated drawings, specifications, charts and tables; use all varieties of precision measuring instruments; and follow troubleshooting procedures.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one.  Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card.

  • Able to pass pre-employment drug screen and conduct physical job requirements, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to become forklift and crane task trained

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.
