Job Description Summary
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at Auburn University, located in Auburn, Alabama is seeking candidates for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Sciences. Postdoctoral positions become available periodically under a variety of research grants and projects in the College. We are seeking applications from individuals with either: (1) a PhD in any area of the biomedical sciences or (2) a DVM or its equivalent at the time employment begins. Interests in biomedical research at Auburn target a fundamental niche in animal and human health, the life sciences, and production agriculture. A host of opportunities are envisioned during the upcoming year, taking advantage of unique Auburn resources provided by the CVM Teaching Hospital, Scott-Ritchey Research Center, Southeastern Raptor Center and Clinical Pharmacology Reference Laboratory. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required. Positions are non-tenure track and are available for a minimum of one year as full time 12 month appointment with renewal possible. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.
