Job Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for being an important support function in the Capital Equipment sales process by providing technical information required to improve productivity of machine tool users. Working with various internal departments to provide accountability and follow-up for our customers. 

Other duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Developing and maintaining customer relationships to ensure all needs are met from pre-sales to project completion by actively reviewing processes and reporting through Salesforce


  • Maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry and the product lines represented by our company


  • Supporting a broad range of tooling and machine accessory projects within a Capital equipment sales territory and establishing yourself as the central knowledge base for the associated machine accessories, work holding, and tool holding products


  • Developing solutions for process optimization and managing related projects from concept to completion


  • Participating in continuous education meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay current with new products, processes and technologies


  • Cultivating a sales territory to generate revenue when not supporting Capital machine projects


  • Being responsive to customers and Capital sales staff in resolving issues promptly and professionally


  • Maintaining a high degree of integrity and professionalism that safeguards the trust and confidence of customers, and colleagues



Qualifications (Education, Experience in Related Field, Skills, etc. ):



  • Engineering Degree (or related field) preferred with 3+ years of applicable experience


  • Intermediate to sophisticated knowledge of CNC machine technology and applications with experience in a manufacturing environment


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form


  • Deep-seated desire to win in a competitive marketplace


  • Strong organizational and time-management skills


  • Ability to excel in a team environment as well as when working independently


  • Bring a strategic approach to all of your work and creativity for solving challenges


  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills – must be able to effectively present products and information to customers in one-on-one and group settings


  • Ability to communicate professionally in oral and written exchanges


  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM is a plus


  • Ability to manage occasional long-distance travel


  • Possess a valid US driving license and a clean driving record


  • A valid US Passport is a plus


  • Frequent travel throughout a regional sales territory is required


  • Public speaking and/or product presentation experience


  • CMTSE Certification


  • Project Management experience


  • Lean Manufacturing training/experience
