Commercial Analyst - Military Veterans

Job Summary

The Commercial Analyst position is responsible for supporting the Commercial Group with regard to monitoring ongoing business and providing support on new business opportunities. Develops project economics for all projects, well connects, system expansions, business development opportunities, etc.*Manages Capital forecasts with Project Management organization for respective area.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Coordinates with Operations and Engineering to get cost estimates
  • Compiles and manages daily schedules to be sent to Commercial, Operations and other pertinent groups
  • Follows through with Contract Admin and Accounting to ensure deal terms are documented and processed accurately
  • Monitors and tracks drilling and well permitting activity using DrillingInfo.com/Enverus and producer contacts
  • Provides volume and capital projections to Financial Planning and Engineering for annual budget and quarterly updates for respective area
  • Evaluates expiring contracts for replacement and/or termination
  • Prepares and/or assists in preparation of management presentations
  • Manages the well connect process and serves as a point of contact for customers to facilitate well connects
  • Serves as a liaison between the Commercial Group and other departments such as engineering, accounting, operations and legal
  • Become subject matter expert on all contractual matters


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree required. Business or engineering degree preferred. MBA or work toward an MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of energy experience
  • Ability to recognize, develop and capture commercial opportunities
  • Basic knowledge of financial structure, ability to work with spreadsheets, proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other business applications.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups during sales calls, presentations and other meetings utilizing written, verbal and listening skills.
  • Must be willing to work occasional overtime, weekends and holidays as needed and required
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and provide attention to detail
  • Be able to maintain regular, dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work with a team, takes direction from supervision, focus attention on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules.
  • Be self-motivated, possess a positive work ethic
  • Be able to deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism
  • Work with Kinder Morgan operations to advocate customer needs
  • Minimal travel will be required

Certifications, licenses, registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
  • Willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
