This position is fully remote with 90% travel both internationally and domestically. Candidates must have a home base in a region East of the Mississippi.

The Atmosphere product line is manufactured in Germany and this position will provide field service support of these products within primarily the United States. This position plans and coordinates assignments as directed by the Atmosphere Sales Manager. This includes installation and startup of new equipment, upgrading existing equipment, troubleshooting technical problems, performing scheduled maintenance and calibration services. Must be able to establish good working relationships with customers through positive results and to promote other service and part offerings on existing equipment including our ability to work on alternate brand equipment eliminating future operational or service difficulties. Will travel to Germany for periodic training on the Atmosphere product line.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installs and starts up new equipment or modifies existing equipment at customer's facility to ensure proper operational functionality after an adequate training period.
- Provides on-site technical assistance to properly troubleshoot, perform functional tests, modernizations/retrofits and repairs of equipment.
- Maintains detailed records of customer site visits and service reports of work performed on equipment.
- Provides instruction and training to operators at customer sites.
- Books travel and submits expense reports in a timely manner.
- Works safely and completes all safety training as required by the customer and/or Ipsen.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of safety policies and protocols
- OSHA 10 or 30 training preferred.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with customers, and vendors to execute repairs and installations
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to read and interpret project drawings and schematics.
- Ability to travel up to 90% of the time, both domestically and internationally
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC (Step7 300, S7 1500 TIA Portal) HMI, bus systems and network technology strongly preferred. Alternatively, knowledge of Allen Bradley or other PLC controls are welcome, with the opportunity to switch over to Siemens through additional training courses
- Is a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal to no direct supervision.
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency (GED) required.
- Associates degree or other post high school certifications and/or apprenticeship training strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years related technical experience required.
- Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance practices of atmospheric furnace heat treating equipment preferred.
