Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Tooling & Emergent Operations Team has an exciting opportunity on their team in Berkeley, MO, for a Tooling Mechanic.



Position Responsibilities:



  • Fabricate, maintain, modify, & install various forms of tooling, such as production assembly jigs, engineering test fixtures, fabrication equipment, etc. in collaboration with engineering design teams, production operations, and production engineering.

  • Develop, prepare and maintain all documentation related to the design, fabrication, and usage of various tooling items and their respective associated calibration equipment.

  • Utilize manual equipment to fabricate or modify various tooling components.
    (Examples: Bridgeport mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, drill press, etc.)

  • Other responsibilities to include: Equipment Maintenance & Calibration, Blueprint Reading, CNC machining, Welding,  Composites Modification, Tooling Inspection, Laser Tracking, CMM and Portable Arm



This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.



Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:


The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.



Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):



  • 3+ years’ of experience working in a tool fabrication environment.

  • High school graduate or GED

  • Associate’s degree and/or equivalent trade school certificate and/or equivalent military experience



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):



  • Experience with Aerospace Manufacturing, Fabrication, Assembly Processes and Technologies

  • 1+ years’ of experience as a machine operator, writing and editing CNC programs

  • Experience in CAD/CAM software (preferred CATIA, Vericut simulation, MasterCAM, )

  • Experience operating metrology devices such as CMM, Arm, or Laser Tracker using CAD-based metrology software



Additional Information



  • The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.

  • This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.

  • New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. All new employees, rehires without seniority or transfers from outside of IAM 837 jurisdiction, shall be regarded as probationary during their first one hundred twenty (120) calendar days of employment.  Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of any required training and the probationary period.



Relocation:


This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.  Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.



Referral Bonus:


Referral to this job is eligible for bonus.


Bonus amount: US dollars (USD) $1,500

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only.  Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  



Summary pay range: $23.00-$30.00 Hour to start, with maximum potential to earn $46.37/Hour top pay.
