This position is located in Montgomery, Alabama
Seeking part-time nurse coverage for clinical services performed under contract with the State Employee Insurance Board (SEIB) at the State Wellness Center in Montgomery, AL. Applicants shall provide professional nursing support and direct patient care a following established standards and practices.
Temporary Employment Services (TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
- Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
- Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
- Assistance with special projects
- Seasonal work
- Emergencies

Essential Functions
- Prepares patients for examinations and treatments and collects objective and subjective assessment data in preparation for the patients exam.
- Serves as a productive member of the interdisciplinary care team providing input into care decisions.
- Provides direct patient care such as administration of medications and immunizations.
- Documents patient care provided and follows all regulatory guidelines.
- Communicates test results to patients under the direction of the primary care practitioners.
- Coordinates medical care with other providers when patients are referred to other providers.
- Prepares and maintains clinicals supplies and equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent in a technical or scientific field related to area of assignment.
- Must be have a valid license as a practical nurse (LPN) or registered nurse (RN).

Auburn University was established in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College, 20 years after the city of Auburn's founding. In 1872, under the Morrill Act, the school became the first land-grant college in the South and was renamed the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Alabama. In 1899 the name again was changed, to the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. Finally, in 1960 the name of the school was changed to Auburn University, a title more in keeping with its location, and expressing the varied academic programs and larger curriculum of a major university.
