Following physicians' orders, the EP Tech assists physician with cath lab procedures and contributes to cardiac diagnosis within scope of practice. Position tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Scrubs with physician and circulates on all cath lab procedures, including prepping, sterile procedures and interventional technology, within scope of practice and in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Implements daily and weekly QA and maintenance procedures on all specified cardiac cath equipment according to established policies and procedures.

  • Monitors patients electrocardiogram and reports rhythm disturbances to physician. Monitors and records intracardiac and intravascular pressures.

  • Utilizes all appropriate equipment and supplies according to established policies and procedures.

  • Contributes to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Education: Bachelors degree in Biology Anatomy & Physiology, or related field

    Experience: 2 years of Electrophysiology experience with knowledge of EP and Ablation devices.

    Licensure: RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)

    Training: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required

    Skills: Proficient in arrhythmia identification, hemodynamic changes, all interventional (EP/ablation/coronary/peripheral). Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
