Logistics Manager - Military Veterans

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Logistics Manager to join our team in Washington, DC to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

In this role you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all logistics operations throughout the equipment life cycle of the contract. The Logistics Manager shall work closely with the Project Manager to define, document, and adhere to proposed solutions and delivery schedules..

Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to:  

• Managing and leading cross-functional teams dealing with acquisitions, logistics, installation, support maintenance, decommissioning/de-installation, and closeout services
• Participating in site deployment/closeout meetings with USCB stakeholders
• Managing warehouse operations
• Managing accurate inventory and asset management of accountable IT equipment
• Assess and recommend ideal shipping methods, routing or carriers to meet necessary parameters, specifications and costs
• Ensure all equipment and materials are delivered to sites on time
• Training and managing deployment team across the CONUS and OCONUS
• Ensure all equipment is received, unpacked, installed and tested based on the schedule
• Lead lessons learned throughout the contract and offer thought leadership and best practices recommendations

Position Requirements:

• U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
• Bachelors degree or equivalent and at least 8 years of experience of managing and leading cross-functional teams dealing with acquisitions, logistics, supply chain management, installation, support maintenance, and decommissioning services of similar scale
• Experience working with Federal, State and Local shipping regulations and requirements
• Experience shipping equipment CONUS and OCONUS
• Experience managing 30+ deployments and deployment teams across the U.S. at the same time
• Proficient professional verbal and written communication skills
