Summary / Description
We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer service oriented Scrum Master / Agile Team Lead to join our team in Arlington, VA, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
In this role you will perform the following:
- Coordinating the delivery of multiple projects and dependencies being executed by other teams within the organization
- Allocating and/or tracking resources across multiple projects
- Working knowledge of SELC and associated documentation (project plans, charters, business cases, requirements documents, test plans, reports, etc.)
- Creating project plans and managing them accordingly
- Working closely with business and solution resources on lifecycle deliverables
- Generating weekly status reports in several formats
- orking with clients to gather requirements. Interpret and translate the captured technical and functional requirements into technical documentation that can be used by both the project management team and the development teams to develop the end user software using Java technologies
- Coordinate with various organizations and teams within the enterprise to ensure that all the activities and dependencies are being met by matrixed resources and other teams responsible for delivery within the organization
- Document project risks and mitigation plans and communicate to the stakeholders
- Ensure all the processes are documented and followed for compliance
- Contribute to project scoping, including requirement assessment, best practices, application design and development, methodologies, and budget recommendations.
- Track and publish common agile health reporting such as burn down charts and velocity
- Assist the product owner with keeping the backlog groomed
- Conduct and document retrospectives
- Ensure cross-team coordination
- Delivers hands-on coaching to individual teams in all aspects of Scrum and Kanban - daily routines, self-organization, collaboration, iterative development, managing flow, limiting work in progress (wip), etc.
- Coaches Agile Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Scrum Teams and Executive Sponsors.
- Assists in the creation and delivery of Agile training for business and IT resources.
- Develops and maintains stakeholder relationships supporting agile product development.
- Remains informed about industry trends and best practices concerning agile methodologies.
- Demonstrates agile mindset and working knowledge of agile techniques including Scrum, Kanban and Extreme Programming.
- Demonstrates knowledge of agile scaling patterns and frameworks.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Education/Experience: Master’s degree and 10 years (minimum) of relevant work experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus.
- Four or more years’ experience as an Agile Coach or working in a similar role in a lean or scrum environment. Strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum Methodologies. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification a plus.
- 5+ years of demonstrated Technical PM and Architectural Design experience. This candidate will oversee work milestones (end to end). This will also require coordinating & writing technical documents
- Prior experience as a developer is a plus for the job.
- Familiar with data analysis and good understanding of data modeling concepts
- Experience with developing SELC documents
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized and able to thrive in a busy, deadline driven atmosphere.
- Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and methodologies.
- Working knowledge of DevOps & Continuous Integration and Delivery
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Coach delivery team in short term high impact engagements
- Agile Certification from Scrum Alliance, ICAgile, SAFe or other Agile organization.
- Experience with training development and delivery.
- Strong collaboration, facilitation and conflict management.
- Experience with Agile Engineering Practices including Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, Automated Testing, Evolutionary Design, etc.
- Experience in facilitating program planning across multiple or large release trains
- Experience in facilitating program/portfolio backlog grooming.
- Familiarity with the concept of Technical Debt.
- Demonstrates participation in Agile Community
- Excellent organizational skills
- The ability to adapt quickly, work in a challenging and fast paced environment with a team, as well as individually
- Skills and knowledge utilizing Windows, Microsoft Office Suite including MS Visio Professional and MS Project Professional
