Cognos BI Developer - Military Veterans

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Cognos BI Developer to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Required Qualifications

• Maintain, configure, and implement IBM Cognos BI reporting suite and Cognos Framework Manager
• roubleshoot, analyze, administer and maintain IBM Cognos Business Intelligence Server 10/11, Transformer and Framework Manager on Oracle 11g /12c database
• Author and design IBM Cognos reports, dashboards and scorecards.
• Provide day-to-day technical support for the Reporting team
• Assist with the processing of routine asset tracking and law enforcement reports
• Bring creative direction and willingness to be an integral part of a thriving team
• Prior experience with other IBM BI/SDK products preferred
• Exposure to other BI products preferred. (SAP Business Objects, PowerBI, Tableau etc.)
• Work with the business users and provide expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis and the general design of the BI system

Desired Skills:

• Must be a U.S. citizen.

   

• Master’s degree and minimum 15 years of relavent experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
• Expert in IBM Cognos BI family of products including Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Event Studio, Transformer and Framework Manager with minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience.
• Troubleshoot/analyze Cognos application and Oracle 11g/12c database
• Document functional and technical requirements for the metadata layer
• Must be able to author reports in both relational and multi-dimensional/OLAP data sources
• Experience with star-schema modeling or data mart is strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL optimization skills, and OLAP tools
• Understanding of systems development life cycle (Agile/Waterfall processes experience is a plus)
• Must be able to work with other staff and provide innovative technological ideas for designing BI system.
• Excellent BI design skills, hands-on experience in developing business intelligence reports
• Familiar with database analysis, design, and programming with an understanding of related technologies specifically Java, XML, and web services
