Summary / Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Integration Lead/Deputy Program Manager to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.
The Technical Integration Lead will:
- Proactively manage a team of experienced software developers to drive improvements to complex, mission critical applications within the Department of Homeland Security.
- Help the team advance its agile maturity by formulating and executing roadmaps of planned unit tests to help migrate from reactive troubleshooting. Analyze support requests and develop feedback mechanisms to guide development efforts.
- Engage product stakeholders & field operation staff to enhance the end user experience for both desktop and mobile users.
- Back-up program manager as needed help manage modernization efforts.
- Key skill sets include the ability to lead software-centric projects of medium complexity and size; experience coordinating activities across multiple organizations and stakeholders, experience managing distributed team resources, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, familiarity/experience with leading Agile projects, and a demonstrated team player style/approach.
- Project manager must understand implementations and protections of PII, code modernization and transformation, and developing and executing “as-is” architectures into “to-be” architectures.
- Minimum 5 years Project Management experience.
- Will be empowered to help guide an experienced team of software developers, build shippable product and be responsible for leading Agile best practices using Scrum. In addition to leading daily Scrum and other Agile meetings, you will also be responsible to ensure Scrum is understood and enacted, work with team(s) to solve problems and to drive continuous improvement and business owner satisfaction.
- Organize and facilitate all scrum related meetings (stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, demos, etc.).
- Work with the team to develop project plans, roadmaps and manage backlog. Communicate team plans, report impediments for escalation, identify risks/concerns to relevant stakeholders to help resolve.
- Monitor team backlog daily and ensure it accurately reflects the current state of the sprint.
- Work with product owners and stakeholders to refine vision and establish goals and metrics.
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress to all affected teams and management.
Requirements
Position Requirements:
- Master’s Degree and minimum 15 years of related experience or equivalent
- US Citizen
- CBP-BI Clearance or ability to obtain one
- Expertise with Java, JavaScript, MVC/MVVM, Spring, Struts, JSON, HTML4/5, AJAX, JSP, CSS, JDBC
- Experience utilizing various debugging tools and methodologies for debugging UI and components
- Working knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., reading/generating software specs, design patterns, continuous integration and continuous delivery, DevOps, Microservices and containers.
- Agile experience
- Emphasis on exceptional written and verbal communication and team player style/approach)
- Minimum 10 years of software development experience
