Maintenance Supervisor / Staff Engineer (7293) - Military Veterans

Description

Reporting to the Plant Manager the Maintenance Supervisor will be located at the manufacturing location in Medina, OH (Greater Cleveland Area). This individual will direct, coordinate and plan the maintenance functions for the manufacturing area and facility, and assist in the RMP program and hazardous waste documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering’s department library of manuals for machinery and equipment
  • Manages documentation of the hazardous waste program
  • Directs all mandatory inspections and maintains documentation to support the RMP program
  • Manages an established comprehensive P.M. schedule on assigned equipment.
  • Directs in equipment rebuilding activities. Reviews assigned equipment and oversees the rebuilding of the project.
  • Manage maintenance staff: approving and scheduling time off calendar, annual reviews, and potential to cover shifts as needed
  • Create a culture within the maintenance staff that is constructive, positive and training driven
  • Ensure the mechanics support the production lines beyond typical mechanical responsibilities when needed (such as rotation of breaks when necessary)
  • Create a project list for mechanics so that when production lines are running smoothly there is always something to do
  • Meet with Director of Manufacturing Operations once a week (or as necessary) to brief on ongoing projects and team issues.
  • Requisitions for parts, components, supplies and equipment to be used in the maintenance area
  • Provides training to plant maintenance personnel in the control of equipment and processes
  • Comply with OSHA and SDS standards
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree or higher a plus.
  • Must provide one’s own tools required to perform job responsibilities
  • Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Able to work overtime and nights as required
  • Familiar with manufacturing chemical plant operations

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

  • Electrical, Pneumatic, and Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Must demonstrate timely troubleshooting skills to limit downtime due to breakdowns
  • 2+ years of related experience in packing machines/production machines

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant
  • Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing, lifting objects up above shoulder level weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8 hour day).
  • Able work in extreme temperatures, indoors and out
  • Overtime will frequently be necessary
