Position Specific Description
The Manager of Cost & Performance is a key contributor to our FPL Business Services business unit. This role combines analytics and finance expertise. As a Manager of Cost & Performance you will be responsible for driving financial optimization and transparency for NEER, with a focus on process improvements and comprehensive financial analysis. The role requires strong people management skills, as well as experience in building and managing financial models. The ideal candidate should have a track record of notable accomplishments and achievements in driving cost reduction and improving financial performance.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the analytics and finance function for FPL IT, overseeing financial governance, reporting, analytics, and controls for all spend, including cloud and software.
• Develop and implement process improvements to optimize financial management and ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
• Manage a team of analysts, providing leadership, guidance, and support in their day-to-day activities.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, identifying cost drivers and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Build and manage financial models to support investment decisions and forecast financial performance.
• Continuously improve and enhance financial models and analysis methodologies, applying best practices and innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their financial requirements and provide insights and recommendations.
• Monitor and report on IT financial performance, providing regular updates and presenting findings to senior management.
• Communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
• Document accomplishments and achievements related to financial optimization and process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) is a plus.
• Strong background in financial analysis and finance-related functions.
• People management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a team.
• Solid understanding of financial principles and concepts, with comprehensive finance experience.
• Proficiency in Excel, including VBA programming and financial modeling.
• Proven track record of driving process improvements and delivering tangible results.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive financial optimization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.
