Correctional Officers' starting salary is $40,040.00 and CSM(Close/Special Mission) Correctional officers' starting salary is $44,044.00 per year, each with a 4% increase in 6 months and another 6% increase at the 12-month mark.

Correctional Officer Responsibilities:
Maintain custody security for incarcerated offenders and maintains order in correctional facilities.
Enforce all institutional policies, rules, procedures, regulations, and state laws necessary to control and manage offenders and maintain public safety.
Take offenders into custody and escorts them in transit and during temporary leave and transports offenders to and from correctional facilities.
Correctional officers will oversee facility entrances and screen visitors.
Inspects inventories and maintains physical control of logs, keys, tools, weapons, and related equipment.
Maintains order, discipline, and security within assigned areas per relevant rules, regulations, policies, and laws.
Observe the conduct and behavior of offenders to prevent disturbances and escapes.
Correctional officers will oversee offenders during work assignments, meals, and recreation periods.
Patrol assigned areas and report any problems.
Prepares admission, program, releases, transfers, and other reports.
All correctional officers are expected and required to respond to emergencies.
All correctional officers will be responsible for the duties listed above and other duties as assigned. .
